We have found over many years that paddle event start times tend to be subject to minor changes, whether that is on-the-day changes. Delays to weather, or even as simple as the starter holding back the fleets for a safety reason for a minute or two. So it is unlikely we will move to a fixed start and will continue to recomend counting down and starting this ahead of time.
